BOULDER, Colo. – August sales numbers for DrillSpot.com show a sizable gain over the same month last year. The online retailer, which specializes in hardware and industrial MRO supplies, reported August 2009 sales of $931,452. By comparison, sales in August of 2008 came in at $605,472.

“Despite the downward trend in the economy, we were able to capture market share from the $250 billion MRO industry, resulting in a 47% uptick in orders,” said Paul Lin, DrillSpot.com’s Founder and CEO, referring to the company’s increased number of orders over August of last year.

Lin credits DrillSpot.com’s strong sales growth to its young, creative team.

“We’re not limited by boundaries,” said Lin, “We are able to capture the trends a little bit quicker.”

DrillSpot.com’s formula fuses problem solving with technological innovation to continually rollout a higher-quality site. In August, for example, the retailer streamlined its checkout process, cutting back the number of checkout related customer service calls by an estimated 50% to 70%. The company also restructured its contact page, reducing incoming spam email by roughly 90% and dramatically improving the customer care team’s response time to legitimate inquiries. This approach has served the company well. DrillSpot.com has a customer rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars on Google, 9.57 out of 10 on Reseller Ratings, and its Amazon customer satisfaction rate rose from 95% over the last 90 days to 97% over the last 30 days.

With over 360,000 products, DrillSpot.com sells a wide variety of home improvement and industrial supplies. Products range from Fluke meters to Broan fans, and include well-respected brands like White Rodgers, Starrett tools, Extech meters, Milwaukee tools and Honeywell thermostats.
