September Sales Break $1 Million for DrillSpot.com

BOULDER, Colo. — DrillSpot.com busted through the $1 million monthly sales mark in September, a first for the company. The internet retailer, which specializes in home improvement and MRO supplies, continues to surpass the status quo month-over-month: September 2009 sales were up 12% over August to $1,039,299, and up 25% over September 2008.

Strong customer reviews played (and continue to play) a key role in converting new visitors to DrillSpot.com, which in-turn has increased the company’s sales numbers. With 1,479 DrillSpot.com reviews on Google Shopping, the retailer has an average rating of 4.8/5 stars, making it a safe bet for weary first-time DrillSpot.com shoppers. By comparison, Amazon.com has over 4,000 reviews, but rates much lower at 3.5/5 stars.

To capture an increasingly larger portion of the $200 billion MRO market, DrillSpot.com rolls out improvements to their website on a regular basis. For example, the company recently reformatted its contact page to better direct customer questions to the appropriate specialist, reducing the customer’s wait time for a response. Just yesterday the company released an updated homepage promoting fall and holiday-related products, which is part of DrillSpot.com’s new focus on merchandising.

With over 360,000 products, DrillSpot.com sells a wide variety of home improvement and industrial supplies. Products range from Fluke meters to Broan fans, and include well-respected brands like White Rodgers, Starrett tools, Extech meters, Milwaukee tools and Honeywell thermostats.
